Southern Christmas Show Pet Ideas Will Have Tails Wagging
The 47th Southern Christmas Show has begun in Charlotte, bringing an early look at holiday treats, décor and entertainment. This year's show, open now through Nov. 23 at the The Park Expo and Conference Center off Independence Boulevard, also has an expanded lineup of gift ideas for dogs, cats and other animal friends.
David Zimmerman, president of Southern Shows, says pets have a special place in his family, and he’s found thousands of show visitors agree.
“Show guests kept asking for more gifts for family pets,” he says. “We listened and believe they’ll be pleased with the healthy, fun and affordable pet gifts and ideas they’ll find at this year’s show.”
Here are several pet-friendly exhibitors and products you’ll find:
Barbara's Canine Catering with all-natural pet treats and holiday dog toys; Christmas stockings, holiday apparel and antlers for dogs; Christmas dog collars and leashes, soft harnesses; pet-themed Christmas cards and pet odor eliminator candles.
Clara’s Collars offers handmade dog and cat collars, leashes and harnesses. This high-end, designer-inspired line is ideal for the pampered pooch.
Kelly's K-9 Kitchen has dog treats in flavors that sound fit for humans. Crispy peanut butter cookies, cheese wafers, apple pie and pumpkin cookies, vanilla “paw pops” and chicken and beef jerky. Kelly’s makes chicken-flavored cat treats, too.
Don't Forget the Bone is a company that makes “Park Packs” also described as “doggy diaper bags.” It’s a tote bag filled with pet necessities for a day out – a waste bag holder, towel, water bottle and bowl. A great gift for the pet owner on the go.
If you want to give your four-legged friend a special treat, be careful what you choose, and remember, just like for people, too much can be unhealthy.
