Scottsdale company paints home to meet neighborhood standards
Phoenix member Charles Jones says his HOA performs regular inspections, and they pegged his newly purchased house as one that needed a paint job. “I had planned on putting it off until our other house sold, but the HOA gave me a more [immediate] deadline,” he says.
Jones says the HOA restrictions he had to follow limited his color choices, but he was able to select a shade for his home. “I wanted a darker color and chose the darkest color scheme from the [approved] selection,” he says.
In addition to painting the exterior, Jones wanted two interior rooms painted. To complete the work, he hired highly rated Sunguard Custom Painting of Scottsdale, Arizona, based on their reviews. He says the cost of the project came close to what he expected to pay at $5,400. “I have a professional house painter in the family who probably would have done the work if not for having surgery recently,” Jones says. “After conferring with him, I knew what to expect.”
According to Jones, there were no major problems during the project. He says some areas needed a touch-up every once in a while, but that’s to be expected with a large job. “The things I pointed out were immediately taken care of,” he says.
The house is now up to HOA standards and getting positive attention from the neighbors. “The house looks great,” Jones says. “My neighbors came to admire it and ask who did the work.”
