Scheduling issues delay St. Louis skylight repair

COMPLAINT: Jim Hendricks, St. Louis

"I hired St. Louis Skylights to replace a leaking skylight. Jeff [Whalen, the owner] said that customers dealing with leaks ordinarily receive scheduling within two weeks. My skylight wasn't replaced for more than four weeks.

"Several days later, I noticed the skylight whistled so I called Jeff but he couldn't find the problem. Then, a leak developed just above the skylight. Jeff said he'd have the original workman come check it out, but I haven't been contacted for rescheduling.

"I've paid for the installation, but it still whistles and leaks, and I'm not on the schedule for the work to be remedied."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to schedule a date, within one week, to diagnose the skylight problems."

RESPONSE: Jeff Smoldt, general manager, St. Louis Skylights

"No excuses. We try to coordinate service calls with other scheduled jobs. In this case, every time the weather was cooperating, the scheduled job wasn't. The repairs have been completed."
