San Francisco specialty furniture order delayed

COMPLAINT: Henry Lessing, Cupertino
"I ordered two custom-made Elite brand reclining chairs from Bellach's Leather Furniture Superstore in Santa Clara depositing $2,197.

When I hadn't heard anything by the estimated delivery time, I contacted the store and was reassured that all was in order; it would only be a short time until delivery.

However, I couldn't get a firm delivery date. Time passed, and my telephone inquiries always resulted in assurances that the chairs would be delivered.

After five months, I asked to be connected to senior personnel.

At the six month mark I was put in contact with the district manager. His attitude was, 'So what if chairs are late?'

I then tried to contact the CEO at corporate headquarters, but had no luck.

I got a purchasing manager with the same casual attitude [as the district manager], who told me delays were due to holidays or factory problems and that there's no way to get a firm delivery date.

I tried canceling my order, but it's not possible. The order is already to the factory."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like them to refund my deposit, with interest."

STATUS: Penalty box
