San Antonio pool service performs unlicensed work
Stumped by a pump
COMPLAINT: Theresa McClung, Spring Branch, Texas
"I hired Gary Pools Inc. to replace the pump casing, key cover assembly and spider gasket on my swimming pool. They installed the spider gasket and key cover incorrectly, causing the pool to partially drain and the pump to run dry for about 56 hours. This damaged both pumps.
Hasn't responded to Cortney Devine's request for a refund for work she says was shoddily performed. Second month in the box.
Thompson-Harrison Plumbing Services
Didn't respond to Richard Agee's request for a refund after he says they didn't properly fix leaks in his ice maker and dishwasher. First month in the box.
"They denied the main pump was damaged and said the problem was electrical. They did electrical work in the breaker box that they weren't licensed to do. It cost $925 to hire another pool company to diagnose the problem and replace the pump, as well as to hire an electrician to diagnose and repair the problems in the pump breaker box.
"Additionally, I paid for extra water to refill the pool, and I lost income taking time off work when the various companies came out."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like Gary Pools to pay me $528. That includes the $925 I paid another company, less the $397 I originally paid Gary Pools, which my credit card company refunded me."
