Sacramento flooring company leaves tile unsealed
C S Floors Galore
Never responded to Tamara Robinson's request they either fix her laminate flooring and ceramic tile she says was laid improperly or pay to have someone else fix it. First month in the Box.
COMPLAINT: Tamara Robinson, Sacramento, Calif.
"I purchased laminate flooring for my entire bottom floor and ceramic tile for two small bathrooms from C&S Floors Galore. The price included installation. They didn't inform me that the underlayment didn't come in - I found out when the subcontractor arrived. They instructed the subcontractor to do half a day's work on the first few days, delaying the installation time and making a mess in my home.
"When I called about these things, they gave me excuses. Both the subcontractor and the subcontractor's assistant were doing the job unsupervised much of the time and left my home filthy. There was sawdust everywhere, and they made no effort to clean up after themselves.
"They didn't seal the tile work and told me to go to a hardware store to get the stuff. I later found out this is usually a part of the installation. The tile grout cracked within one week, even though I waited more than 24 hours to walk on it.
"The subcontractor's assistant came in and fixed a few of these problems after the first call. On the second call, I stated that after all the prior problems, I'd contact the contractor's board if the defects didn't get fixed promptly. They called back and left a whiny, nasty message on my answering machine. They were very unprofessional."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "They need to fix the gaps in the laminate around the walls and toilets; replace the scratched floorboards; have the tile grout professionally cleaned and sealed; and finish the work between the cabinets and the tiles as large gaps are present or reimburse me to have another contractor inspect and do the repairs."
