Richmond florist disputes service claims
John P. Watson
Failed to respond to Christopher Lowry's request to finish the remodeling work he says they left unfinished. Third month in the box.
COMPLAINT: Michael Butler, Fairfax, Va.
"I ordered a flower arrangement from Greensleeves Florist, but they failed to deliver the flowers to the recipient on the day and time promised. The flowers were rerouted to my home and arrived at 7 p.m., wilted and with multiple broken stems.
"I called the florist, which resulted in being placed on hold and hung-up on. A salesperson promised delivery of complimentary chocolates the next day, but they never made the delivery. The manager didn't return my messages. I contacted the manager days later, who denied any quality or service issues."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like a full refund."
RESPONSE: Gazala Rana, owner, Greensleeves Florist
"We went to the recipient's office at 4:30 p.m. - she wasn't there. We got a call from the member, who gave us a new address and said to leave the arrangement at the front door, which we did. At that time, I advised him that we weren't responsible for the arrangement if it was left at the door.
"Nobody at the shop promised a chocolate delivery. I got a call five days after delivery and offered him 20 percent off the flowers or 50 percent off his next purchase. Guarantees at our shop are for three days. The member's call came after five days. There was no message left for me before that."
