Remodeling a bathroom for less than $9,000

Angie's list members recently shared their experiences with bathroom remodeling projects in 2013, and many of them saved money by making careful choices on materials.  Jennifer Krauser of Fishers, Ind., bought some of the materials for her guest 
bathroom remodel and hired Bob Slater of highly-rated Bath-N-Such in Noblesville to purchase the rest and install it all.

Here’s how her project added up, including all labor costs:

Shower door (Basco Shower Enclosures from Plumbers Supply Co. in Fishers).




One gallon of paint (Lowe’s).




Three assorted-size towel bars in brushed nickel (




Shower grab bar (Lowe’s).




Toilet paper holder (Lowe’s).




Granite remnant countertop (Olympia Stone).




Two undermount sinks (Olympia Stone).




Two, two-handled Windemere brushed nickel WaterSense 
bathroom sink faucets with drain included (Lowe’s).




Delta Leland Monitor 14 Series Tub and Shower Trim, 
and universal T-value (Lowe’s).




Floor tile, shower tile and tiles shelves, tub, toilet, floor trim and labor.
