Remodeler Blends Old Features With New on Kitchen
Angie’s List member Susan D. wanted to update the kitchen of her Lee’s Summit, Missouri, home, but she wanted to save some features. Susan hired highly rated Karl Ross Construction in Liberty, Missouri, to undertake the project.
Susan says owner Karl Ross helped her design the kitchen. “I told Karl what I wanted, and if he didn’t agree, he let me know why he didn’t agree,” she writes in her Page of Happiness-nominated review. “That input was invaluable.”
The $30,000 job included removing and replacing the cabinets, sink and faucet; removing the popcorn ceilings in Susan’s kitchen, dining room and hallway, then adding a different texture; painting the walls in those rooms and installing lighting. He also replaced the closers on her screen doors as a courtesy.
Susan says Ross was punctual, cleaned thoroughly each day and paid attention to the things she asked him to save. “I kept the existing bamboo floor, but Karl had to take part of it up because of the new cabinet layout,” she says. “He was very thorough when replacing the section of the floor that had to be taken up.”
She says she couldn’t be happier with the finished product. “I love my new kitchen,” she says. “And I thank Karl for a job well done.”
