Radical renovation modernizes outdated kitchen
Highly rated Radical Renovations of High Falls, New York, brought Kingston member Lori Guillon’s kitchen from its outdated 1958 look to modern day, a project she wanted to do for four years.
They accomplished this by installing new cabinets, recessed lighting, windows, doors, granite countertops and bamboo flooring. They also replaced the siding on the house, which was necessary once they resized the windows. Guillon says she used the company in the past to remodel her bathroom, so she knew they produced quality work.
To utilize space more efficiently, they moved a coat closet to open up the back door into the kitchen, then rebuilt it on the other side of the back door, and moved the stove and sink. “The kitchen gained so much room, and is now open to the living room and dining room,” Guillon says.
She was unsure about paint colors, but says Radical Renovations selected perfectly. As an old house, there were snags along the way, but Guillon says the company worked around them with perfection.
“The outcome is truly amazing,” she says. “Not only is owner Angelo Ruggiero a first-rate contractor and jack-of-all-trades, but his eye for design and willingness to work with the customer take a lot of the anxiety out of renovating, and actually make it fun!”
