Quarrel over quality with duct cleaning in Kansas City
COMPLAINT: Melissa Weatherspoon, Lenexa, Kan.
"I hired Midwest Duct Cleaning Inc. of Merriam, Kan., to clean my home's air ducts. They spent four hours performing the work, but they seemed pressed for time and left in a hurry.
"They forgot to replace vents, did not remove tape from some vents and now my furnace makes a loud banging sound. I called the office about the vents and tape, and they apologized.
"My husband later called about the banging sound and asked for someone to correct it. They came out and said there was nothing wrong.
"My husband called the manager again and asked for a $100 refund for all the issues. The manager later left us a message saying he was sending a gift certificate for our trouble.
"It was $25 card for a steak house - we don't even eat red meat! Our furnace is still making a banging sound."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a $250 refund so we can hire a furnace technician to resolve the issue."

"We're very sorry that the members are dissatisfied with our service. We did have a manager out to their home two times to address the noise.
"We also installed insulation in the ductwork to resolve the issue. We always make every attempt to meet a customer's needs and resolve any issues.
"We will mail them a check for $250 as requested."
