COMPLAINT: Dixie Fitzpatrick, Milwaukie, Ore.
"West Coast Gutter Service was supposed to replace a section of gutters. They said it would be $300 and that they could do the job as soon as I got a plumber to install the drainpipe in a different location. The service technicians tore the gutter off without checking anything and installed a new one, then said the new one wouldn't drain and that they couldn't fix it.
"I paid even after the work wasn't done properly; they said they would correct the problem. They sent out two additional technicians. One wrote a letter saying the gutter shouldn't have been torn off [right away]. I've contacted [the company], sent certified letters to both of their offices and spoken with people there. One never returned calls.
"I asked about the plumber they had me hire, and they said to fax them paperwork and that they'll take care of the plumbing bill. They said I should receive a check soon, but I haven't received one, and when I called and asked where it was, they didn't call back."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like the $600 refund they agreed to send me - $300 for the plumber they said I needed and $300 for work that wasn't done."
