Portland auto repair technicians put a stop to car problems
Whether you live in Portland, Ore. or Vancouver, Wash., you’re looking for great service, especially with service and maintenance of your car.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Portland auto repair shops as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
ABS Auto Glass, Portland
ABS Auto Glass shattered Mark Dubac’s expectations. “They removed and replaced a damaged front windshield and completely smashed back windshield to my 2004 Honda Civic,” he says. “They were quick to respond. They ordered parts immediately after we discussed the details and pricing over the phone. They showed up a day or two later and got to work on my car, which was just parked on the street outside my house. It took them less than an hour! I will definitely hire them immediately if I have any auto glass needs.”
East Canyon revved up Julie Golden’s auto repair. “They replaced the front brake pads, changed the oil and filter, changed the air filter and replaced the brake light bulbs,” she says. “It was the quickest auto maintenance experience I’ve ever had. They stock common items and put two men on the job so they can have a fast turnaround. I asked him to check my spark plugs because I couldn’t remember if they’d been replaced at the appropriate time. He could have said that they needed replacement, but he didn’t — he told me they were fine.”
On The Spot Mobile Car Detail, Portland
On The Spot Mobile Car Detail kicked it into high gear for Cliff Brush. “How good is it to have a car or truck washed and cleaned at your home? Great. How good is it that the result looks almost like a full detail? Even better,” he says. “The team of two on this job worked well together. Bottom line: I will do business with On the Spot again.”
Import Repair Center, Portland
Import Repair Center put a stop to Abigail Raeke’s worries. “My brakes were squealing like a train around tracks. so I was afraid they were going,” she says. “They were so wonderful and honest -- we were having a cold snap and they explained that it was just the kind of brake pad I had that were taking a while to warm up. The sound they make is terrible, but they assured me that the brakes were still perfectly safe. They said they could switch out the brake pads to a kind that wouldn’t make the noise for about $300, but I opted to keep my safe, noisy pads, and they didn’t charge me a thing. Many shops would have just switched out the pads, taking care of the problem I’d come in complaining about, and I wouldn’t have been the wiser, thinking the problem fixed. I am so grateful for the integrity of this shop.”
About Posts of Happiness
At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.
We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A’s in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company’s actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they’d hire again.
After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
