Phoenix mover responds to complaint

Miserable move

COMPLAINT: Kathy Becque, Tempe, Ariz.

"I scheduled The Apartment Movers to move items from a storage unit in Tempe into a one-bedroom apartment in Scottsdale on a Saturday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. By 3 p.m., they hadn't arrived or called.

"When I called, they replied they were running behind. At 5 p.m. when they still hadn't called or arrived, I called the manager. He said they would definitely be there within the hour. Fifteen minutes later, one of the movers informed me he had an emergency and would have to reschedule. They finally arrived at 7:45 p.m. Sunday."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like a full refund."

RESPONSE: David Martinez, manager, The Apartment Movers

"We only give time windows and they aren't guaranteed. We apologize if the customer was mistaken, but we completed the job without damages. If she decides to use us again, we'll give her a 30 percent discount."

STATUS: Stalemate
