COMPLAINT: Robert Picard, Philadelphia
"I knew I locked myself out once I closed my front door, so I called 24/7 Emergency Locksmith. I told the dispatcher about the handle lock and that I was going to replace it so I didn't care if they damaged the lock. From that point on, their goal was to sell me a new back door.
They gave me a $200 price to get me back into my home and said they'd put that toward a new door.
They gave me an estimate of $1,500 for the door. I told them I wasn't going to spend that much and asked them to recalculate the cost of the lockout service. They ended up mailing me a check for $39. So I paid a total of $160 just for a lockout service that only took the locksmith less than two minutes."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want 24/7 to charge me, considering the discount they advertise for veterans, for the service they provided. I expect a $39.95 fee, plus the cost for one minute of service."
STATUS: Penalty Box
