Patients crowing about these Miami dentists

Whether you live up in Fort Lauderdale or down in Coral Gables, you’re looking for great service, especially regarding your family’s dental care.

Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Miami dentists as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.

Overcoming fear

When Catherine Daly needed to replace her partial dentures, she turned to Dr. Adam Barbag of Coral Springs, Fla. despite her fears. “After a consultation with Dr. Barbag, we decided it was best to replace the partials with a full upper dental plate,” she says. “This included the extraction of five teeth. Despite my fear the procedure went with out much ado. It was painless and quick. My new dentures fix perfectly.

"Though I have several follow-up appointments, I feel we will discuss how well the entire procedure went," she says. "I’m extremely pleased with my results. Others around me say that my new teeth are perfect.

"I’d recommend Dr. Barbag for all your dental and cosmetic needs," Daly says. "He’s thorough, thoughtful and skilled. He almost makes me want to arrange other procedures, just because he is that good.”

A holistic approach

Edwidge Subirats found exactly what he was looking in the holistic dental practice of Dr. Fredda Rosenbaum of Aventura, Fla. that also offers sedation dentistry. “It’s been love since I walked through their doors,” Subirats says. “The atmosphere in the office is so warm and inviting: It’s like visiting your favorite aunt. There’s no nonsense. Dr. Fredda will tell you like it is and keep you laughing and smiling.

"The hygienist gave me great tips on keeping my teeth clean naturally and how to keep my three children’s teeth strong and healthy," Subirats says. "My teeth got cleaned without my face being stretched around or the corners of my lips being almost torn. (It’s happened to me at my previous dentists offices.)

"I’m not surprised that I no longer have that knot of fear in the pit of my stomach I used to get when the dental office called with an appointment reminder," Subirats says. "I really feel that I’m cared for as a person here, not just another dollar. The hygienist even called me a couple of hours after I left with some additional pointers for taking care of a sensitive tooth. I really love this practice, and as long as I live in South Florida, my family and I will continue coming here.”

Repair from grinding teeth

Years of tooth grinding left Tim Reyes in need of reconstructive dental repairs. “I also wanted some whitening before spending the money for repairs,” he says. So he went to Dr. Kristen Brittain of Weston, Fla. “She gave no condemnation for neglecting my teeth, and she restored my smile!

"I’m no longer self conscious of my smile," he says. "They’re even coordinating with the periodontist to make sure they keep my expenses in line with my minimal insurance coverage. If I found her 10 years ago, I wouldn’t have been uncomfortable at the dentist, and I wouldn’t be in the mess I am now. I truly can’t say enough positive things about her and her staff.”

Exact color matching

When his tooth started to discolor from a childhood bicycle accident a decade ago, James Theckston started going to AVM Dentistry of Coral Gables, Fla. “Dr. Angel Velazquez gave personal attention on my first visit for my need for a front-tooth cap,” he says. “In order for the tooth to match the rest of my existing teeth, he took me outside to make sure the color matched exactly.

"He not only paid attention to detail, but he also made sure when the cap that was made for me came into his office and had the exact color he wanted," he says. "He not only returned the tooth to be remade, but he did it twice!

"He’s always updating his office technology," Theckston reports. "He’s now able to make the teeth directly now in his office. I feel so comfortable and trust of Dr. Velasquez and his hygienist Maria Elena [Baserva] that I usually fall asleep in the middle of my procedures. I owe a lot for what he’s done for my smile. I’d refer him to anyone.”
