Pantry remodel makes better use of kitchen space
Member Bill Cafferty of Kerrville, Texas, recently hired highly rated Lone Star Construction and Remodeling of nearby Bandera for a kitchen pantry remodel. The company demolished Cafferty’s old pantry, removed cabinetry and countertops and constructed a new pantry.
Here’s what Cafferty had to say about the project:
Today, it’s a challenge to even get a contractor to respond to your phone call or email. Owner Jeff Kroll was very responsive to my request for a quote, arriving when he said he would.
He listened to what we wanted done and provided a couple of alternative approaches. As with most things, it’s never as easy as you think it will be, and I was continually impressed with the ease with which Jeff methodically demolished the existing pantry and then, step-by-step, began building the new pantry.
As I’m sure happens often in projects like this, I asked him to accommodate a couple of additional features as he was building the new pantry, to include an automatic light when the door opens, which required additional work. Jeff took my requests in stride. He subcontracted the drywall preparation and painting, and it was obvious by the quality of their work that Jeff takes great care to find high quality subcontractors.
While the price was a tad more than what we had planned to spend, the end result is everything we had hoped for.
