COMPLAINT: Arlene Bratton, Zionsville, Ind.
"Painting by Paul Johnson painted the exterior of my home, including the garage doors, eaves and screened porch. They were to scrape, caulk and replace any rotting wood they found.
"It took them two days to do most of the painting. I noticed the garage door wood surrounds hadn't been scraped and were already peeling, so I showed Paul [Johnson] and asked for them to be redone.
"I pointed out each area several times so he would get them all. He scraped and primed them and painted again, but when the paint dried, I could see the lighter primer color, so I asked him to paint those areas again and he did.
"After Paul returned these two times, I paid him. About two weeks later, a roofer and I noticed that one of my home's third-story dormer boards was rotted but had been painted anyway.
"I called Paul and told him about it and he said I'd need to hire a handyman to repair it because it was just up too high. I think he should have made someone available to do the work or sent a handyman to do it if he thought it was too high."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to replace, prime and paint the rotted board or pay a handyman to do the work."
