"Before moving in, I had Excel Home Painting to paint the interior walls, ceilings and woodwork on the main floor of the house.
"I noticed the screen was taken off my tub drain, and the tub was covered with white paint and pieces of wallpaper. The drain was clogged, and I had to hire a plumber to unclog it.
"The painters denied having washed it down the drain. In addition, it was clear the woodwork had not been primed before being painted. Another painter confirmed Excel had painted latex over oil paint without primer, which caused it to peel off.
"Ryan Barr [the owner] asserted it had been done correctly but offered to send the same two painters back to address the problem. I didn't want them back in my house to do more damage.
"Five months of this back and forth, Ryan claims he will have someone scrape, prime and repaint in the room that is the worst, but I am frustrated in dealing with him."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like to be reimbursed for the cost to have someone else come in and remove the paint on the woodwork, prime and paint it."

"The member alleged there were areas where the paint had peeled off; however, it was obvious from gouges on the trim that someone had aggressively scraped the areas trying to peel it back.
"The trim was previously painted, so it was not necessary for a primer to be used; however, it did need to be scuffed to create adequate adhesion.
"We scuff sanded, and I have the receipts to verify it. In addition, the member removed the wallpaper herself prior to our arrival.
"Immediately after the member alerted me to the issues she was having, I offered to come and fix them. She refused to allow us to come back.
"Trying to compromise, we agreed we would scrape and sand all of the paint in the room that is having the worst peeling.
"I feel like I have tried to be as diplomatic as possible throughout this process and am confident that if any of our other clients had the same issues that the issue would have been resolved in a matter of days. We want all of our clients to be happy."
