Orlando house painter helps evict mailbox-dwelling gecko
Orlando member Kimberly Weichert and her husband, Thomas, wanted their home’s exterior painted for more than a year before hiring highly rated Philip White Painting. “It was in dire need of some TLC,” she says.
After searching the List, Kimberly says she felt most comfortable with Philip White and went with her gut. She chose the paint colors after viewing several samples.
It definitely paid off, and she says when family and friends visit, they often joke about being at the wrong house because the change in appearance is so drastic.
“We have had so much positive feedback about the color,” she says. “It is so satisfying when you hire a company to do a job, and they not only do what they said they were going to do, but they exceed your expectations.”
The Weicherts are now planning some interior painting projects, including the front sitting room and Kimberly’s office.
In addition to the house painting, Philip White painted the Weicherts’ fence, performed trim work to replace rotted wood around the garage door and roof and fixed the mailbox that Kimberly hated. She says the bottom of the mailbox had rusted, leaving holes that allowed the mail to soak whenever it rained.
“A little lizard took up residence in the rusted-out holes and would love to eat the bugs that would end up in there,” she says. “It was very disturbing to get your mail and have a gecko jump on your hand. So this new mailbox is a dream.”
As much as she hated the mailbox, Kimberly says seeing how the paint color transformed their home for the first time was her favorite part of the project.
“It even made the roof color pop,” she says. “It was very exciting to see something that my husband and I agreed on come together so beautifully.”
