"The renter in my condo called Richard's Appliance Repair to fix the soap dish on a dishwasher.
The repairman said the dish was caked with soap and wasn't pumping enough water into the machine.
He said it needed a Power Pak assembly for $229. He proceeded to clean the soap dish.
A week later, my renter tried the dishwasher and said it had the same problem as before.
When I talked to the repairman, he again said it was the pump because it's an old dishwasher. I then found another repairman on Angie's List to give it a second look.
He took it apart, cleaned it and fixed the problem.
I called Richard's Appliance Repair and explained how I paid twice for the same repair service. They said they understood what I meant, but I never heard back from them."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'm looking for a $42.75 refund."
RESPONSE: Gena Cox, manager, Richard's Appliance Repair
"I spoke with my technician, and he said while he was there cleaning the soap dispenser, it wasn't getting water. This is the reason for the soap buildup.
It also explains why it needed to be cleaned a second time. My technician didn't charge for labor because he knew of the other problem, but the [member] didn't want that repair done."
