North Fort Myers contractor won’t address roof repairs, member says
I first hired Solar Shield Roofing aka Solar Shield Urethane Roof Systems of North Fort Myers, Fla., to reroof my house in 2005, but they didn’t use the product they said they would use.
I had them come back about three years later to reroof again, and they reroofed with the right product.
I called them back in 2010 to inspect the roof and pressure clean it because they were told there were blisters showing. They said they would come in a week. After calling and sending letters, then a registered letter, they came in November 2011 and said they’d return next week to do the work over again.
They never came. I sent a few more letters and made phone calls. I had to have someone else do the work even though this roof had a 10-year warranty and the manufacturer gave a 20-year warranty. The manufacturer told me Solar Shield didn’t record the warranty.
I want Solar Shield to pay a different roofer that I choose to do the job over again.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
