New York carpet cleaning leaves area rugs ruined
COMPLAINT: Mary Ellis, South Dartmouth, Mass.
"I hired Sunflower Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaning to clean one rug and two small area rugs. When I called, they said it would cost $30. When they came, they increased the estimate to $107. I was in the process of moving and just wanted to get it done, so I agreed.
"It was supposed to take seven days, but I ended up not getting the rugs back for six weeks. During that time, they never called to let me know the progress; I had to initiate all contact. When I got them back, my rugs were ruined and looked awful. I contacted them and all they did was refund the money [I paid them for cleaning]. They didn't offer to reimburse me for the rugs they ruined."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like $800 - the replacement value of the rugs."
