Sherborn, Massachusetts, member Thomas Oberst wanted his house stained for five years, and recently had siding replaced on two sides of his 35-year-old home. His next task was to hire a company to do the job, which included carpentry, sanding, caulking and power washing as part of the prep work. The painting included doors and windows.

Ultimately, he hired highly rated Painting Plus of Holliston, Massachusetts, for the work. He didn’t regret the decision. “They really did an excellent job with the coverage,” Oberst says. “Because half the siding was new clapboard, it really needed to be brushed in for the first coat, and they took their time and did that well.”

He chose the company because they seemed flexible and committed, and were willing to go the extra mile in terms of the carpentry and minor repair work needed. In fact, Oberst says his favorite part of the project was that Painting Plus painted a retaining wall and wooded gate at no extra cost and made other suggestions on how to improve the home’s overall appearance.

Also, the company used a particular stain that Oberst wanted, whereas other companies were only interested in using their brands. Oberst says owner Kerry Hann was willing to work with him during the job, adding and subtracting different items as needed. The crew impressed him with their professionalism. The job progressed quickly, and there weren’t any problems.

Oberst says people tell him it looks like a new house. “One of my neighbors now wants to buy it from me.”
