New patio with ceiling fans creates cool outdoor space
Alpharetta, Georgia member Ryan Colich and his wife, Julie, wanted to tackle several projects after moving into their home. They had already finished the basement and added French doors to access the backyard, but that wasn’t all they wanted to update. “We made a master plan to renovate and improve our home, inside and out,” Ryan says.
After completing some work on the lawn, the Coliches hoped to create a patio under their raised deck. The area outside their newly installed French doors was a dirt patch. “The area looked awful,” Ryan says. “The space was completely unusable for entertaining.”
The Coliches hired highly rated Classic Craftsmen of Marietta, Georgia, to create the outdoor space they required. Ryan says he a friend suggested the company, and several factors helped him choose them for the job. “They came up with a good plan, offered a fair price and they were highly recommended,” Ryan says.
During an early evaluation, the company identified a potential structural problem. They removed and replaced old timbers that supported the deck. The underside of the deck also required some work to make it structurally sound. After that was sorted out, Ryan says the project went off without a hitch.
The final cost of the patio project was $7,000. Ryan says he budgeted for the project in the planning stages and the final cost was very close to what he expected to pay. “Their [Classic Craftsmen] final bill was exactly what they quoted,” Ryan says.

The goal of the patio was give the Coliches an outdoor space that allowed them to enjoy their backyard. Ryan says that’s exactly what they got. “Our family and friends love the patio,” Ryan says. “It’s the perfect space for relaxing on a summer day because you can be out of the hot, Georgia sun and enjoy a breeze from the ceiling fans.”
