New Britain handyman leaves job unfinished, homeowner says
I hired handyman Christopher L. Castaldo in New Britain, Pennsylvania, to trim and paint a closet door in our basement, replace quarter round in my sunroom and repair the attic stairs. He started the job, but said he had to wait on materials he ordered. That was three months ago, and he hasn’t returned my calls or responded to emails.
This wasn’t the first time I hired him. For more than a year, he was our go-to handyman, doing everything from minor electrical repairs to hanging doors to repairing a deck. And I was always pleased with his work. He recently moved, which made his commute to my house longer, but I still feel he owes it to a long-standing customer to finish the work.
I want him to finish the job, but I’m not waiting any longer. If I hire another contractor before I hear from him, I would like him to pay the cost of the work he left unfinished.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
