Nashville homeowner replaces 25-year-old roof after finding leak

Nearly 25 years ago, Nashville, Tennessee, Angie’s List member Kit P. installed a new roof when she moved into her home. According to Kit’s review, the shingles recently reached the end of their life span. “Over the years, they lasted through severe storms, hail and fallen tree limbs,” she says. “They were losing grit and were plumb worn out.”

After a section of bathroom ceiling began to leak, Kit called a company she used in the past for other exterior work. That company inspected the roof twice, but Kit decided to explore other options. “The quote was a bit more than I expected, so I decided to get additional quotes,” she says.

Kit hired highly rated Alford Roofing & Construction of Nashville to complete the roof replacement, which cost $6,600. She says she found them on Angie’s List, and contacted them to provide an estimate. She says she was impressed with the company’s openness and willingness to discuss different options. “I was given an extensive package of material, including copies of their license, bonding documents and various reviews from other customers,” Kit says.

Once installation started, Kit says the crew worked efficiently. She says that the company brought their own gas generator to power their equipment. She says they laid tarps around the house and cleaned up after the project. They conpleted the job in one day. “I feel that I definitely got my money’s worth on my new roof,” Kit says.
