Moving appliances makes kitchen more functional

Member Jenny Abbott recently hired Christian Construction of Orangevale, Calif., to remodel a kitchen that was originally installed in the 1940s.

Here’s what Abbott had to say about her experience:

"Owner Jim Christian and his crew were absolutely terrific to work with. The job involved tearing down walls, rebuilding a support wall, moving appliances and installing new cabinets and tiling. Several mini-remodels had been done that actually made the kitchen worse over the years. I interviewed several contractors, but picked Jim because of the time he took evaluating the kitchen and addressing questions. Jim was in contact with me every step of the way to resolve issues.

"Jim worked within my budget, and when change orders had to be implemented, he worked to keep the cost reasonable for the work needed. I raised six children using the old kitchen and never thought about functionality and aesthetics. Now that we have our beautiful new kitchen, I cannot be happier!"
