Milwaukee appliance repair shop makes amends
COMPLAINT: Tom Keith, Waukesha
"I purchased a washer and dryer from American TV Appliance and Furniture. The dryer stopped working after two months. They came to repair it, but had to order a part. When the part came in, it didn't work either. They found two other parts on the dryer that were bad, so a total of three parts aren't working. American said they are still waiting on one of the parts, but they won't exchange the unit because it was a floor model (with a full warranty) and they don't sell that model anymore."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like them to repair the dryer, replace it with the same model and color, or remove the washer and dryer and give me a full refund."
The member says the company fixed the problem and he considers the matter resolved.
COMPLAINT: Annie Kimbrough, Milwaukee
"I contracted J & B Restoration LLC to put a new roof on my house in the spring of 2007. I paid half of the money as a deposit — $4,000. I contacted them several times and was told work was going to begin on a certain date, but it never happened. I contacted them in the fall because the work hadn't started, and I want my deposit back. I'm afraid my money is gone."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a $4,000 refund."
The member says she received the refund and considers the matter resolved.
