Miami-area computer repair company resolves service issue
I hired Exclusive Technology Consulting in Estero, Florida, to fix my computer. They provided me with an estimate of $2,300 for everything. That price tag quickly grew to $2,800.
They didn’t tell me I would need new Microsoft software. They also didn’t tell me if my accounting software would work on the machine, and I ended up having to purchase new software, which added $700. I had to work manually for five weeks, and now have to enter all the data into my computer.
This work will take about 10 hours at a cost of $30 per hour, so I want a refund of $300.

We did give the member an estimate of $2,300, but he then purchased additional optional hardware. That cost $500 for him, and it cost us $200 to install.
Later, he decided to purchase a maintenance plan with us, which added $600. Originally, he said he would only pay for the original estimate and the additional $500 of hardware.
We weren’t willing to give him $1,300 worth of free services, but we are working with the member to come to a reasonable agreement.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
