Members spout praise for these Dallas plumbers

Regardless of where you live in the Big D, you’re looking for great service, especially with your plumbing needs and emergencies.

Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Dallas plumbers as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.

Texas flood

Chris Craft panicked when water gushed into his house when his toilet tank broke loose. “The shutoff valve would not turn off, almost like it was glued,” he says. “I didn’t have a key for the outside water meter and was in a panic as the water quickly expanded to three rooms and a hallway.

So he hired O’Bryan Plumbing Repair Service of Allen, Texas. "I called Dan [O’Bryan], and a plumber was at my house in about 15 minutes, turning the water off on his way in to the house," Craft says. "He quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the line and upgraded the shutoff valve. He also helped me clean up the rooms with water damage as I waited for the restoration people. I scheduled time to complete the maintenance work needed and upgraded all the shutoff values so that I don’t have a repeat of this situation. Team O’Bryan will be our forever plumbers!"

Auto recovery

When Chance Olson’s son dropped a toy car down the shower drain, they turned to Tierney Plumbing of Southlake, Texas to recover the vehicle. “They unclogged every thing and pulled considerably more than a car up,” he says. “Because I’d bought a Big Deal for 2 hours of service, I had them deal with a sewage smell coming out of our master bathroom. I’d already called a previous plumber for this same issue, and it did not fix the problem.

"They were able to identify the problem right away and fix it and eliminate the smell," Olson says. "They dealt kindly with my 2-year-old who was peeping over their shoulders the entire time. They didn’t charge me at all for resetting a toilet. I couldn’t say enough good things about these guys!”

A Christmas present for granny

Allison Hobgood called for help when sewer smell threatened to cancel Christmas at her grandmother’s house. “I called Mesquite Plumbing [of Dallas], explained the issue and what her neighbors thought it might be and told him that my grandmother was more than willing to pay weekend rate, holiday rate, whatever to get this resolved,” she says. “The other plumber she contacted said it would be 10 days before they come. Mesquite reassured me that the plumbers that arrived would have the equipment needed and should fix it the same day. Sure enough, they did.

"It wasn’t even close to the issue she thought it was, but the guys that came out were genuinely honest, even gave her a discount," Hobgood says. "She was so thrilled about the issue finally being resolved and that it wasn’t a bigger problem that expected. I’m very thankful that they were available for us, they were honest and didn’t take advantage of my grandmother. She still talks about this plumbing company two months later, and I can guarantee that anyone in my area as well as family and friends will be referred here.”

Fixing a slab leak

When Rebekah Greenawalt came home and found water leaking into her garage and bedroom, she called Goad Plumbing of Midlothian, Texas and owner Robert Goad came immediately. “It was towards dinner time, so I was really grateful,” she says. “After investigating a bit, he discovered that I had a slab leak from a hot water line. He stopped the water from leaking and made a way for us to continue using the cold water in the house while we waited for a slab leak specialist to arrive the next day. I would happily refer his services to anyone needing plumbing!”

About Posts of Happiness

At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.

We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.

After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
