Members gush over these Miami plumbers
Whether you live up in Fort Lauderdale or down in Coral Gables, as a homeowner in the Magic City, you’re looking for great service, especially with your plumbing needs and emergencies.
Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Miami plumbers as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.
A late-afternoon garden mishap
When water gushed into her backyard after she broke a pipe while gardening, Catalina Jaques found Mark E. Stirrup Plumbing of Hallandale, Fla. to save the day. “I’ve used Mark twice now: The first time was for water leaking in the bathroom, and the second time for the busted pipe outside,” she says. “I called Mark at 5 p.m. He was very helpful on the phone, and even though he had a full day, he came to my house by 7 p.m. Even though it was dark, he managed to fix the problem. He had all the equipment he needed in his truck and made my terrible day seem not so bad. He also charged me far less than all the other plumbers I called that day, and he honored the Angie's List coupon on top of it. I’ll use his company in the future.”
Third time's a charm
When the city notified Micheline Modiano she likely had a water leak at her house, Gary Krpata from Gary the Plumber of Pompano Beach, Fla. found the leak after failed fixes from two other plumbers. “I’m very grateful for his honesty and the fact that he never tried to take advantage of the situation as two other plumbers and leaks detectors did during the past two months,” she says. “Not only they were unable to detect the leak, but they were paid for repairs at the wrong place. I received a second bill from the city showing that we still had the leak. We called a third plumber, and he was talking about running a new line under our slab. That could be a major job at the cost of $3,000!
"Finally, we called Gary the Plumber, and he said we could have our problem solved without being obliged to turn our backyard upside down for the reasonable price of $420," Krpata says. "After he repaired the pipe, Gary put everything in order, the dirt and sand from the digging and the pavers back in place.”
Everything but the kitchen sink
When Milan and Son Plumbing of Deerfield Beach, Fla. installed two toilets, three faucets and an under-kitchen-sink water filtration system, Michael Krauss was flush with happiness. “I couldn’t recommend Milan and Son Plumbing more highly,” he says. "Milan Piric is an expert plumber who is very smart, pleasant, funny and clean. Milan said he would show up at 9 a.m., and his car arrived in my driveway at 8:59 a.m. Milan not only did a great, meticulous job in all faucets but also gave honest opinions about the quality of plumbing fixtures. He’s a very pleasant person to deal with, who realizes that doing a good job will increase his business via word-of-mouth.
"I've only known plumbers in the past who were untidy and seemed personally unkempt, like the stereotypical plumber with his underwear sticking out," Krauss says. "Milan, on the other hand, has his company polo shirt on and was generally well-dressed. If you need a great, honest plumber in the Boca Raton/Deerfield/Delray areas, there’s no one I’d recommend more highly.”
This plumber's properly prepared
Ray Lattof took the plunge and had one toilet repaired and one replaced by hiring American Plumbing of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. “Both of my toilets were in serious need of repair,” he says. “In one bathroom, the plumber replaced the toilet's insides within about 15 minutes, but the toilet in the other bathroom needed replaced because it was sporadically leaking water from the toilet's base. Since this was all prearranged via phone several days before, Gary came completely prepared with the toilet so that he could install it on that day. I would, without hesitation, readily recommend American Plumbing, a solid thumbs-up.
About Posts of Happiness
At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.
We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.
After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
