Member says Winder landscaper promised to resolve issues, but didn’t deliver
I hired Great American Services of Winder, Ga., for six months of work that included cutting the lawn, pulling weeds, pruning the shrubs, seeding the lawn and cleaning up brush.
I paid $1,200 in advance for the service to begin. However, Great American only came out twice the first month and at most three times the next month. I haven’t seen them service the lawn since then. So, essentially I’m paying for work not completed.
During the initial agreement, I asked that they meet me so I could explain my needs. They said they would, but no one ever came and they didn’t respond to my requests for a meeting. During one of the first visits, they cut down flowers from their beds. I asked that they not do this and leave the beds alone and they agreed to, but the next visit they did the same thing.
Each crew is different from the last one and I never know when they are coming. I also asked them to clean up debris, which they agreed to, but never did. I want three-fourths of the $1,200 returned so I can get a new landscaper to work on the yard.

Penalty Box — Broken Promise
Editor’s note: Great American Services agreed to resolve the issues, but one portion of the job, caring for the vinca vines, remains unfinished.
Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
