Member says she received a refund after an unsatisfactory swingset disassembly
I hired Sameday Handyman of Fort Mitchell, Ky., to disassemble a swingset. It took six hours with two people to partially disassemble it. They told me it would be $45 an hour. I feel that they took advantage of me since my husband wasn’t there, and they charged me $45 per person. They didn’t disassemble the tower, so it was too heavy for the movers to put on the truck. They were supposed to assemble it at the new house, but I called and canceled that day since it way over my budget. The owner said he would give a deep discount for setup. But, I felt like I was getting scammed, so I didn’t use them. They won’t return my phone calls. I want a $270 refund.

Interior screws and bolts were used at the last installation. Most of the screws and bolts broke off. The member OK’d the job and her husband called a week later. I offered a discount to reassemble the swingset at a new residence. My apologies. John Schmidt, owner
Editor’s note: The member received the requested refund.
Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
