Member says San Antonio tile contractor took money and ran
I hired Lemuel Tile Specialists of Converse, Texas, to repair the grout work on our bathroom wall, replace tile, install a drop-down shower and finish the area.
I met with the company and received a proposal. I paid him $800 to begin the project. Since cashing our check, he’s been in and out of town for four weeks and unresponsive to my attempts to communicate with him. I’ve requested to get our money back with no success. No work has been performed.
I hired another contractor for the same job. It was done in an hour and a half and it only cost $135. This second contractor removed the grout and replaced it and said that there was no need to remove the other materials and replace them with new ones. I want an $800 refund.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to mediate disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
