Member says Reston workout facility provided refund
My wife and I joined Crunch Gym of Reston, Va., but canceled our membership after moving. Because the location hadn’t opened yet, we were able to cancel with a full refund.
Several weeks later, I received a refund check, but it was $200 more than I paid. I wrote a check immediately, and they didn’t cash it. I sent a new check a few weeks later.
Crunch Gym charged my wife $40 for a monthly membership. I emailed the general manager, and after numerous emails, I didn’t receive a refund. Crunch charged my wife’s credit card for a second time.
When I called, the general manager attempted to terminate the account again, and said she would send a refund for the first month. I went to the location and received a refund for one of the months.
I want a refund of $40 and confirmation that both my membership and my wife’s membership are canceled as the general manager stated.

We did experience a billing error with the member’s account. We apologize for the error, and the time it took to correct. All are corrected, and any monies owed returned. He has been patient with us, for which we greatly appreciate!

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
