Member says Nokesville asphalt contractor did sloppy job
I hired Asphalt Paving Master of Nokesville, Va. to remove an existing driveway and create a new, expanded one. It went terribly. Random wires stick up about 4 inches in 30 different places. They brushed it off, saying it was part of the screen.
When they were done, there were horrible transition areas from when they ran out of asphalt twice. They were supposed to rip up roots from a tree, which they never did. They just covered it with asphalt, which hasn’t worked. A root is pushing up into the driveway.
There are areas that are not even an inch thick, when we had agreed on 2 to 3 inches. It was a terrible experience. I contacted the company about it, but they have not responded to any of my attempts. They won’t do anything to resolve the issue.
I want Asphalt Paving Masters to give me $2,000 so that I can hire another paving company to conduct the necessary repairs and then re-seal the driveway.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
