Member says Manassas builder used inferior materials
I hired Dream Home Exteriors of Manassas, Va., to build and install a portico over my house’s main entrance.
The support poles on the left and right began twisting, causing gaps in the molding. Dream Home says it’s not the workmanship, but the materials are warped, which is causing the problem, so they’re not responsible. It will cost $1,050 to repair. However, they chose the materials, so I shouldn’t be liable.
I want the columns replaced and the cladding reinstalled to eliminate gaps, or I want them to pay $1,050 so I can hire another company to fix the problem.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to mediate disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
