Member says Indianapolis tree company failed to finish work
I hired Arborist Dodson of Indianapolis for tree service. They asked for a deposit of $500. On Thursday, they cut down the largest tree, which was leaning toward the house. They cut down the limbs and got the tree to fall.
He [Chad Dodson] asked for $1,000 to pay the guys who were taking the limbs away. The next day, they came late in the afternoon and took down a smaller tree. He asked for another $1,000 check and said he’d come out tomorrow to finish. He was supposed to take out a couple of smaller trees and some undergrowth, none of which was even started.
On Saturday, he said that his truck was in the repair shop and he’d be there the next day. Sunday, I go to church and come back, and no one was there.
He’s in violation of his contract. He cashed two checks for $1,500. I put a stop payment on the other check for $1,000. I want a $1,500 refund.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
