Member says Hebbronville construction company screwed up fence
I hired EPR Construction of Hebbronville, Texas, to install two fence extensions and gates, as well as do a small fence repair. The work was to be done the following week, but the owner was full of excuses about why he couldn’t get out to my home on time.
When he finally arrived, he dropped off the lumber and told me he’d dig the post holes the next day, but he didn’t show up. Several days later, he finally began.
They did a poor job digging the post holes, including not digging them at a 90 degree angle, which would cause issues with the railing sitting properly. When he extended the rail, he did it poorly, and it looks awful. He installed the fence backwards, with the privacy side facing out, claiming my HOA wouldn’t want it done the other way. He also told me I’d have to pay extra to put up the other side of the fence as I originally asked.
The gates he installed began to sag a month later. I had to fix the rails myself because of the poor angle of the post holes, and they still don’t meet up tightly with the posts.
Now he won’t return my calls. I would like a refund of $850.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
