Member complaint

I hired Capital Home Services of Fairfax, Va., for a large-scale home improvement project and paid a $600 deposit. I’ve used Barry Holden in the past for small jobs.

He had some family issues that precluded him from showing for three weeks despite phone calls every now and then, promising to show up the following day. These issues, which would’ve been forgiven if he’d shown up, haven’t kept him from cashing the deposit check.

Other than his occasional calls to me, my phone calls and texts to him go unanswered. I want a full refund.

Have a complaint?

Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
