I hired to Dynatemp of Elkridge, Md. to install a furnace, compressor and ductwork. I met with Dave Hume, Randy Bosley and two install technicians to discuss duct placement and the schedule of work. I already discussed duct placement multiple times with them in the past, in person and by phone. They were provided all plans and drawings for the property. In the meeting, they said they would start work at the beginning of the following work week and the job would require two to 2.5 days of total work. Weeks later, the job is nowhere near complete.

Ductwork was done in a manner in which we never agreed. For example, venting for the system was run 10 feet away from where we agreed, creating the need for bulkheads in a bedroom. Work also was done incorrectly. For example, they forgot to install an air filter in the furnace. The new supplies added to the basement drop inches below the ceiling line and need to be re-done.

I’ve emailed and called Hume and Bosley consistently during this period to understand what’s happening and provide assistance should they need it. Mr. Bosley will return some but not all emails. Mr. Hume returned one email. Neither returned any voicemails. My call to the office line went unreturned as well.

The entire project is on hold. Framing, plumbing and electrical can’t proceed until the HVAC work is complete. I have expressed this to Dynatemp on numerous occasions. Mr. Hume specifically instructed the on-site technician NOT to complete our interior work against my requests. Mr. Bosley indicated Dynatemp recently lost employees. Recent reviews on Angie’s List indicate others are having similar problems with Dynatemp. It appears the company is no longer in business or may be going out of business.

I want the work finished immediately, or refund $6,234 so I can hire another company.
