Member says Delray Beach flooring company didn’t finish the job
I hired US Wood Flooring of Delray Beach to install wood laminate flooring on the entire second floor and stairs. Five people arrived and did the whole floor except for a small area because they ran out of underlay. After they finished, they told me that they don’t do stairs like mine.
I was very upset that they didn’t tell me this during the initial estimate, or at the beginning of the workday when they arrived and noticed that they wouldn’t be able to do the stairs. If I had known that, I never would’ve hired them. I made repeated attempts to contact the owner, but he hasn’t returned my call. I did receive a personal check from the owner for the lack of work on the stairs, but this doesn’t fix the issue.
I want my stairs done in laminate not carpet, and I want the price quoted to me. I want a complete refund of the entire amount I paid to redo the entire flooring including the stairs as agreed upon, or US Wood Flooring have the stairs done correctly at their expense to fulfill their agreement with me when they accepted and cashed my check. Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
