Member says contractor took money but never produced granite countertops
I hired A1 Affordable Designs of Pompano Beach, Fla., to fix granite in the bathroom and install three matching shelves. I paid $3,000 for the granite, and then I was told the owner couldn’t deliver on the cabinets. I specifically said I wanted cream cabinets, not white.
After 3.5 months of repeated calls, I was told I could only get them in white. He returned $1,400, but refuses to return the rest. He hung up on me and told me he doesn’t care what I do, he’s not giving me back the money.
He thought I would accept the cabinets in white. When I refused, he completely cut off all communication.
I want a refund of $1,586.27 for the granite I purchased that he didn’t install.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
