Member says contractor failed to complete basement remodel
I hired Building Finishing Specialist of Washington, D.C. to reconfigure the basement by adding a kitchen, bathroom and install flooring.
The contractor is a nice person, but very unreliable. He never shows up on time and leaves without notice. When he picked up the laminate, he left it in the van while it was raining, causing it to be soaked.
I have a contract for $10,000, have paid more than half the cost and he isn’t nearly complete.
I want the contractor to be responsible, show up and complete the work. Only after all the work is paid will he receive the remaining balance.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
