Member says Chicago moving company damaged property
I hired Trade Movers of Chicago to move my home. They arrived more than two and a half hours later and used a smaller truck that what I was promised, so they didn’t finish until almost 1 a.m. They broke some of my furniture and appliances. There was a large dent in my refrigerator, and they tried to tell me it was already there. They didn’t have enough packing supplies like tape and furniture covers, which is why my items were damaged. When I spoke with them, they accepted responsibility for all the damage that they did, but were unable to produce evidence of the insurance claim that they promised. It’s been more than a month, and I still haven’t heard from them. I would like them to pay for the damages to my property.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
