Member says Charlotte electrician wrongly cut holes in wall, refused to deliver receipt
I hired Livewire Electrical of Charlotte, N.C., to restore electricity to two rooms in my house. They determined that the issue was not a fuse and began diagnostic testing on outlets.
They had been troubleshooting for a while and finally said that they thought it must be a wiring problem. They explained that they were going to cut a couple of holes in the wall to completely redo some of the wiring and run it down to the fuse box.
After cutting three square-shaped holes in the wall, they suddenly realized that the problem was actually with the outlet in the room where they had cut the holes. They replaced the outlet, and now I have to pay to have the holes repaired. They also tracked mud all over the upstairs.
The biggest issue I have is that after repeated requests, they refused to provide me with a receipt. It’s the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. I want a detailed receipt of the work.

Have a complaint?
Our Angie’s List complaint resolution team attempts to resolve disputes between members and service providers. During this process, three outcomes can happen: Penalty Box, Resolved or Stalemate. Companies that don’t respond to a member’s complaint will be placed in the Penalty Box until they respond. A case becomes Resolved if a company addresses the complaint to the member’s satisfaction, or it becomes a Stalemate if the provider responds, but the company and the member can’t reach an agreement.
