Los Angeles remodel job stalls after wrong flooring is delivered
COMPLAINT: Scott Hayes, Palos Verdes Peninsula, Calif.
"While remodeling a kitchen and two bathrooms, I ordered bamboo flooring from Expo Design Center [Redondo Beach].
Failed to respond to Anika Denton's request that they complete electrical work she says wasn't properly finished or in accordance with city code. Third month in the box.
All American Moving & Storage
Never responded to Roberta Lieberman's request for $1,000 in restitution for her father's tools and toolbox she says they lost during a move from California to Arizona. First month in the box.
I met with a designer who showed me a sample board with two different colors of bamboo, and I picked the darker of the two.
When the material arrived, I received 35 cases of the lighter material. I asked if I could exchange the flooring for the right material, but was told I couldn't.
When I placed my order, I spent more than $27,000 on various materials and had 12 different order forms to review. I caught more than $3,000 in errors that Expo made.
Unfortunately, I missed the color of the wood was wrong. Expo has admitted no fault and has done nothing to try to resolve this issue."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want Expo Design Center to exchange the delivered flooring for the flooring I ordered."
