COMPLAINT: Selena Inouye, Los Angeles
"Mr. Handyman, Venice Blvd., relocated sprinkler heads, fixed a leaking outdoor faucet and leveled two areas in my backyard. My contract states I was entitled to a copy of this agreement before any work started. I didn't receive a copy until after remitting payment. Mr. Handyman didn't relocate the sprinkler heads or level my backyard correctly. I wasn't charged the estimated price."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a full refund of $1,029 because I paid two other contractors to complete the work."
RESPONSE: David Silverman, owner, Mr. Handyman
"The member claims she didn't receive a copy of her contract, but we have a copy of the contract signed by her before we started working. We are confused as to why she states she didn't receive that.
"I immediately offered to finish the work at an extremely reduced rate - less than half our normal fee. She was happy with that - and with the work we had done so far - and asked us to finish the work. Upon completion, the member inspected the work, and we had finished everything to her complete satisfaction.
"She later changed her mind, and inexplicably asked for all of her money back. In the end, we were very unhappy to leave a customer feeling this way about our services."
