Local mechanics in Cincinnati earn kudos from customers

Whether you live in the Ohio suburbs of Cincinnati or acorss the river in the Covington area, you need a good local mechanic to take care of your car.

Here’s the latest Post of Happiness for great service from Cincinnati-area auto repair shops as selected by the Angie’s List Newsroom staff.

Body Works of Cincinnati didn’t give Wayne Topp the run around. “They replaced the hood and front fender panel of my Honda Odyssey after a tree branch fell on the vehicle,” he says. “The crew did a fantastic job of getting the vehicle in quickly and serviced quickly, too. It came back looking like new again and they even tried to correct some of the problems that were caused by using a shop recommended by my insurance provider before them at no extra charge. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody for their honesty, friendliness, knowledge and the quality of their work.”

North of Cinci, in the Hamilton suburb of Fairfield, Danco Transmission & Auto Care revved up Andrew Craig’s auto repairs. “Three years ago, I gave Danco a try. I’ve been with them ever since,” he says. “From basic maintenance — belts, oil changes, flushes — to replacing the rear end on my HD Suburban, they have done nothing short of exceptional work at very fair prices. Their employees are great and they seem like a very kind family that lets their principles guide the way they operate their business. Recently, I had them replace some belts and an alternator. They do fantastic work at reasonable rates.”

Tires Plus of Cincinnati steered up a positive experience for Sheral Trexler. “They replaced a starter and battery on my SUV,” Trexler says. “I called them to see if they could get the repairs done. They told me it would be no problem and to bring my car in. I took my car that afternoon and they said it would take about two hours. I asked them if I could pick up the car the next day, and they said it would not be a problem and even took me home in their vehicle. Knowing I had just spent a substantial amount earlier in the month on my vehicle, they did everything possible to keep the cost down. I also know that the discounts I received were not added on to the cost of the parts because I had checked online parts distributors for estimates; they charged me less than those I had checked.”

Bev & Mills Auto Service of Fairfield spins up success for Thedore McDaniel. “They performed an oil change and tire rotation and replaced windshield wipers,” McDaniel says. “My family has been going to Bev and Mills since I can remember — over 20 years. I have personally taken every car I have owned to them for the small things — oil changes and tire rotations — to the big ones — full brakes, new tires, engine problems, etc. They are all fantastic to work with. You can drop your car whenever you want, they will drop you off if you need a ride, treat you with utmost respect and will check into anything you ask them to. I wouldn’t take my vehicles anywhere else. If you want to watch them work on your car, all you have to do is ask, and while working on it, they will explain everything they are doing.”

About Posts of Happiness

At Angie’s List, we regularly hear from members who are ecstatic about outstanding service received from the companies they’ve hired. We think such great service deserves recognition, which is why we feature Posts of Happiness.

We ask our members for nominations when they rate companies with A's in every category. To qualify, a review must be at least 500 characters about a company's actual work (not just an estimate) and members need to assure us that they'd hire again.

After a nomination, our staff selects the most outstanding stories to feature. If we choose your nomination, your review will appear in our monthly magazine and even right here on our website.
